Any physical machine running AerieHQ counts as one device — one Chromebook = 1 device, one Windows laptop = 1 device, one Mac = 1 device. Students don't count — devices do. If 30 students share a cart of 30 Chromebooks, that's 30 devices regardless of how many students use them.
The app on the new device shows a "Device limit reached" message and won't connect. Your existing devices continue to work normally. You can add more devices in blocks of 100 from your account page or by contacting us — they're added to your subscription immediately.
You pay the flat school rate regardless. Most elementary schools have under 300 devices so 300 is included free. The device count is a ceiling, not a usage meter — you don't pay more if usage varies day to day.
No — each license is tied to one school and one school domain. A school district with 10 buildings needs the District plan (10 licenses at $1,000 each = $10,000/yr). Each building gets its own 300-device allocation. This is how we ensure fair pricing and prevent sharing.

Yes. No long-term contracts. If you cancel during the 5-day trial you pay nothing at all. If you cancel mid-year your license stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then stops automatically.
